Silvija Fagarazzi
She was born in Zagreb in 1973. In 1985, she enrolled in the Pavle Markovac Secondary School in the class of Prof. Josip Ćipić. In 1991, after finishing secondary music school and the School for Applied Arts and Design, she enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, and in 1993 the Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Ivo Olup, where she graduated in 1997.
She started teaching during her studies, first in Bjelovar in 1995 when she discovered her interest in working as an early years teacher. After graduating, she started working at the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School in Bjelovar, where she worked until 2007. She started the oboe class at the “Elly Bašić” School of Music in 2005 with only a few students.
Her students regularly participate in national and international competitions, such as “Woodwind&Brass” in Varaždin, “LIONS GRAND PRIX” in Zagreb and Rijeka, “Davorin Jenko” in Belgrade, Serbia, Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Musicisti “Città di Barletta”, Barletta, Italy, PaMus Flow, online, Musical Lace from Idrija, online, where they achieve excellent results as soloists and members of chamber ensembles. Her students have also had notable performances at concerts organized by the school, by partnership schools “Pavao Markovac”, Zagreb and “Lovro pl. Matačić”, Omiš, Musical Youth, Young Philharmonic and for associations Unicef, Krijesnica (Firefly) and Na drugi način (In Another Way).
For her exceptional achievements and the results of her students achieved at national and international competitions, she has been awarded the “Oscar of Knowledge” Award from the Ministry of Science and Education twice.
In 2021, Silvija Fagarazzi was awarded the title of Teacher Advisor by the Education and Teacher Training Agency for her work as a teacher and for the results achieved.
She shares her experience with junior colleagues as a mentor to students and interns or as a lecturer at professional meetings. She regularly updates her pedagogical knowledge at seminars with eminent domestic and foreign educators: D. Golčić, B. Mihanović, Z. Hornyanszk, G. Gvantseladze, C. Schmitt, Seung Eun Lee, M. Arter, R. Ortega.
Since 2018, she has been actively participating in the activities of the Society for the Promotion of Functional Music Pedagogy as secretary of the Association.
