Beatriz Macías
Celebrated for the “voice-like beauty” of her playing, Mexican-American flutist, Beatriz Macías, is fast emerging as one of the most versatile figures in the scene of classical music. She enjoys an international career, equally in demand as a soloist, orchestral flutist and pedagogue. Macías has held the Principal Flute position with the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, has won trials with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and has appeared with numerous orchestras including the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Dutch National Ballet, Luxembourg Philharmonic, and the Houston Symphony, to name a few. Currently, she holds the position of Principal Flute in the Estonian National Opera and Ballet. Macías is the founder and Artistic Director of the Tampere Flute Fest in Finland and Co-Founder and Artistic Advisor of the Puerto Rico Flute Festival in Puerto Rico.
