{"id":3184,"date":"2019-11-28T14:01:21","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T13:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/redizajn.natjecanje.hr\/?page_id=3184"},"modified":"2026-03-22T09:04:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T08:04:46","slug":"pravilnik","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/natjecanje.hr\/en\/competition-rules\/","title":{"rendered":"COMPETITION RULES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>COMPETITION RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>International Piano Competition \u2013&nbsp;<em>Memorijal Jurica Murai<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Murai Grand Prix<\/em>&nbsp;will be held from April 9th \u2013 April 15th 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications will be open until March 15, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RULES AND CATEGORIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Memorijal Jurica Murai (Tribute to Jurica Murai)<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is intended for young pianists up to 19 years old.<br \/>\n<strong><em>Murai Grand Prix<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is a competition intended for pianists, 17 \u2013 32 year-old artists.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Memorijal Jurica Murai (Tribute to Jurica Murai)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The participants compete in six categories determined according to their age on the day of the competition, April 9th 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Category A: 9 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 5 minutes<\/p>\n<p><strong>One piece from the baroque era is mandatory for Categories from B to F.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Category B: 11 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 8 minutes<br \/>\nCategory C: 13 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 10 minutes<br \/>\nCategory D: 15 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 15 minutes<br \/>\nCategory E: 17 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 20 minutes<br \/>\nCategory F: 19 years and under \u2013 free choice repertoire which may not exceed 25 minutes<br \/>\nA candidate can compete with different programmes in two categories, the one of the same age or with older candidates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The complete repertoire must be performed from memory.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prizes&nbsp;<\/strong>will be awarded by the Jury in each category:<br \/>\n\u2022 1st Prize \u2013 to all participants who score 95 \u2013 100 points<br \/>\n\u2022 2nd Prize \u2013 to all participants who score 90 \u2013 94.99 points<br \/>\n\u2022 3rd Prize \u2013 to all participants who score 85 \u2013 89.99 points<\/p>\n<p>Several special prizes can also be awarded by the Jury, a special prize for the best performance of works by Croatian composers and a special prize for the best performance of works by female composers.<\/p>\n<p>All participants who score up to 85 points will receive a participation certificate.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The category A laureate will receive a special price from the Organiser of the Competition.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>The category B laureate will recive a \u20ac 120 cash prize.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>The category C laureate will recive a \u20ac 140 cash prize.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>The category D laureate will recive a \u20ac 160 cash prize.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>The category E laureate will recive a \u20ac 180 cash prize.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>The category F laureate will recive a \u20ac 200 cash prize.<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The prizes may not be shared.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Murai Grand Prix<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The participants compete in the unique category. The competitors\u2019 age (17 \u2013 32) is determined according to their age on the day of the competition, April 9th 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Competition will consist of two rounds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1st Round \u2013 duration up to 20 minutes<\/strong><br \/>\nJ. S. Bach: Prelude and Fugue from WTK or one Toccata (BWV 910 \u2013 916) or Fantasia and Fugue.<br \/>\nVirtuoso etude by F. Chopin, F. Liszt, S. Rahmanjinov, A. Skrjabin or C. Debussy.<\/p>\n<p>Compulsory piece by Croatian composer (approximately up to 3 minutes). In the 2nd Round the Jury ranks the candidates by scores. All candidates of 2nd Round will be given the Certificate of participation in the Competition Finals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prizes<\/strong>: three prizes will be awarded by the Jury.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>1st Prize \u2013 a cash award of \u20ac 2000<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>2nd Prize \u2013 a cash award of \u20ac 1000<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>3rd Prize \u2013 a cash award of \u20ac 700<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Several special prizes can also be awarded by the Jury, a special prize for the best performance of works by Croatian composers and a special prize for the best performance of works by female composers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The official end of the competition is the Final concert, where all the laureates of the Grand Prix Murai competition and the participants of Memorijal Jurica Murai (Tribute to Jurica Murai) selected by the Jury, are obliged to perform. Otherwise, they lose the right to be awarded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Article 1<br \/>\nThe International Competitions of Vara\u017edin School of Music are intended for musicians, regardless of their type of education and nationality.<\/p>\n<p>Article 2<br \/>\nThe competitions are open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Article 3<br \/>\nThe Organiser (the School) shall retain all the rights to video and audio recordings.<\/p>\n<p>Article 4<br \/>\nThe competitions will be held in alphabetical order starting with the letter \u201cA\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Article 5<br \/>\nParticipants are required to register at the Competition Office by presenting an identifying document (identity card or passport) not later than an hour before their performance.<\/p>\n<p>Article 6<br \/>\nParticipants are permitted to make changes to the repertoire indicated in the application form, except for the required pieces if prescribed in the common rules, until 15 days after the application deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Article 7<br \/>\nEvery participant will receive his\/her rehearsal time prior to the performance, as well as a short acoustic rehearsal in the hall where the competition will take place.<\/p>\n<p>Article 8<br \/>\nThe jury will be composed of renowned Croatian and foreign musicians and pedagogues.<\/p>\n<p>Article 9<\/p>\n<p>The Jury of the Jurica Murai Memorial Competition consists of 5 eminent educators and musicians, and the Jury of the Murai Grand Prix Competition consists of 7 eminent educators and musicians.<\/p>\n<p>Article 10<br \/>\nIn case of withdrawal of a member of the jury, the Organiser has the right to replace the withdrawing member with a new member.<\/p>\n<p>Article 11<br \/>\nIf a member of the Jury is a participant\u2019s teacher or is related to him\/her, such a member shall abstain from voting. They will perform their duty professionaly and in any case won\u2019t influence the decision and scoring of other Jury members.<\/p>\n<p>Article 12<br \/>\nIn case of withdrawal from the competition, the paid registration fee is not refunded to the competitors. Refund of the registration fee is possible only in case of cancellation of the competiton by the Organizer.<\/p>\n<p>Article 13<br \/>\nParticipants do not have to perform for the maximum duration specified for the given category. The Jury has the right to stop the participant\u2019s performance if it exceeds the time limit, which does not disqualify the participant from the voting procedure.<\/p>\n<p>Article 14<br \/>\nSecretaries of the Jury by each category measure the performance of the participants and warn the Jury about the possibility of exceeding the allowed time of the performance.<\/p>\n<p>Article 15<br \/>\nBy registering for the competition, participants give the Organizer permission to use their personal information in all submitted documents solely for the purpose of the Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Article 16<br \/>\nThe Organiser shall retain all the rights to video and audio recordings for all the events in the competition halls. All other forms of recording constitute a violation of the provisions of these Regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Article 17<br \/>\nThe Competition schedule regarding different disciplines and categories will be published on the Competition web site and will be printed out in the Competition booklet so that the participants can receive the information in a timely manner. Only Name, Surname and the State of Origin of the participants will be printed in the Comeptition booklet and the score sheet. On the Certificate all information will be printed: Name and Surname, Institution, State of Origin and Scores.<\/p>\n<p>Article 18<\/p>\n<p>The Jury of the Competition has the option to make a decision on an ex aequo award to the contestants if it determines that there is a need for one.<\/p>\n<p>Article 19<br \/>\nA special prize to the most successful pedagogue can be awarded by the Jury at its discretion.<\/p>\n<p>Article 20<br \/>\nThe decisions made by the Jury are final and non-appealable.<\/p>\n<p>Article 21<br \/>\nThe competitor or the representatives of the competitors are obliged to receive the prize at the award ceremony. The final results are announced after the award ceremony.
